Enable people to reduce their carbon footprint and reduce traffic by choosing to cycle as a viable alternative to driving on shorter journeys.
Connect Stow with its neighbouring villages, encouraging a more connected wider community and supporting a vibrant local economy.
Motivate people to stay active and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of regular cycling and explore our beautiful Borders countryside.
Enhance the opportunities provided by the Borders Railway and we will promote Stow as a destination by offering visitors to the area the opportunity to discover the Gala water and surrounding valleys by bike.
Provide a range of services and support activities in the cycle workshop and across the local community to make cycling accessible and fun for cyclists of all ages and abilities.
anchor cycle workshop
Cycle Hub Workshop
The workshop is usually open 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Check our Facebook for any amendments to this. To use the workshop out with these times contact us beforehand we will try and arrange a volunteer to open up for you.
Workshop Maintenance Classes
We run classes and training. Learn how to check your bike, fix a puncture, cleaning and oiling, trail side repairs, brakes, gears, replace bearings, service your suspension, true a wheel or build a wheel. We will run a series of courses throughout the year.
Let us know if there is anything you would like to learn and we can arrange something for you.
Bike Checks
Found an old bike at the back of the shed? Picked up a second hand bike? We can check it over for you and give you advice on any work or parts we think it might need.
Fix-your-own
We believe that understanding how your bike works and being able to adjust and fix it yourself is far more valuable than paying someone else to do it for you. Fixing it yourself cost less than a repair or service. If you need help one of our team can talk you through the repair. You pay for any parts, and a donation for the use of the tools or mechanics time if you need them.
Volunteer Opportunities
Come volunteer in the workshop. We will help you develop your mechanic skills and give you workshop training if you need it.
If you would like to volunteer in other areas of Stow Cycle Hub please get in touch.
Repairs and Servicing
We can repair or service your bike for you. Drop in to the hub when we are open and we can take a look and give you an estimate on the price.
Social
Feel free to drop in when were open and talk bike. Get advice on cycling and share your ideas with us on what you would like to see at the workshop. Catch up on what’s going on or coming soon.
